Robin AI is on a mission to revolutionize the legal industry by simplifying contracts and making law accessible to everyone. We utilize cutting-edge machine learning and contract software, enhancing traditional legal services and bringing together experts in engineering, AI, and law. Robin AI has recently raised $10.5m Series A funding, whilst also turning cash flow positive and seeing an impressive 20x revenue growth in the last 12 months.

The Role

As an experienced legal professional, you will have responsibility for reviewing and negotiating commercial documents such as vendor agreements (including master services agreements, statements of work, SaaS agreements and more), data processing addenda, confidentiality agreements and engagement letters, amongst others. You will also have the opportunity to help us hire and develop fantastic new junior legal talent in the team. In addition, Robin offers great opportunities for personal career development in a variety of areas alongside traditional legal work, including client onboarding and management, product development and ongoing customer success. We are expanding our North American presence, with the goal of opening a standalone New York City office. This role will suit an experienced legal professional (whether a qualified solicitor or paralegal) who might be considering an in-house position within a commercial legal team. At Robin we are proud to have high-calibre clients of the sort described above, and our core commercial work covers many of the same areas and document types that they handle internally – but we work in a much more modern, creative and flexible way!

Tech Stack

  • Reviewing and negotiating contracts such as vendor agreements, data processing addenda, confidentiality agreements and engagement letters, using a combination of Robin’s AI technology and your own legal experience.
  • Helping establish and agree contract playbooks (i.e. review guidelines) with current and new clients.
  • Reviewing the work of junior team members and assisting with their professional development and ongoing training (all of which will also be available to you).
  • Testing Robin’s technology products and feeding back issues, bugs and areas for improvement to our engineering and machine learning teams.
  • As Robin continues to experience success, you will also have the chance to get involved in exciting business-related projects, including helping to support our future fundraising rounds.

Your Skills

You will have at least 1-3 years’ experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating the core commercial documents regularly encountered by our clients described above. You will have previously worked with commercial legal teams (and perhaps procurement teams), whether in-house, at a service provider or at a law firm, and will understand the typical process for negotiating supplier agreements.

You will enjoy taking the initiative and seeking answers to interesting practical and legal issues. You will be both technical and commercial, both in the practice of law and outside of it. You will be interested in developing your client management skills at a faster pace than might be possible elsewhere, and ideally, you’ll be looking forward to taking ownership of some of our client relationships in due course.  Last (but certainly not least), you will be motivated by working in a fast-paced, diverse and intellectually challenging environment where collaboration between lawyers and non-lawyers is essential to achieving results.
